My Approach
My approach in therapy is from a holistic Psychotherapy lens encompassing a tailored eclectic skillset of psychodynamic psychotherapy and relational psycho-analytic psychotherapy. Together these approaches create a deep understanding of the complex and dynamic relationships between our thoughts, feelings, subconscious, and experiences to promote longer lasting change.

As we are human we have blindspots and spots we are aware of. Before we can make deep, meaningful change, we must become aware of the processes and subconcious patterns that have contributed to this very problem. This allows us to create a greater understanding of ourselves and to have more favourable outcomes for our future. This also allows us to have a deeper sense of forgiveness, grief and self-compassion that is often masked underneath shame, self-blame and confusion.

I approach our sessions from a psychotherapy perspective, which emphasizes the importance of understanding each person's unique story. This means that I don't see you as a diagnosis or a condition, but rather as a complex and multifaceted individual with a rich history and set of experiences. By exploring your story together, we can gain a deeper understanding of your thoughts, feelings, and behaviors, and develop a personalized approach to help you achieve your goals.

The relational psychotherapy perspective focuses on the importance of the therapeutic relationship itself. The therapeutic relationship becomes a frame for therapy and a frame for a new way of relating to yourself and others outside of the therapy room. This perspective allows us to understand that the way we interact with others can shape our sense of self and understanding of the world. Through this lens, I work with clients to explore the ways in which their relationships with others - past and present - may be impacting their thoughts, feelings, and behaviours.

The psychodynamic psychotherapy, on the other hand, focuses on the unconscious mind and the role it plays in shaping our internal emotional experiences. By exploring the unconscious patterns and motivations that drive our behaviour, we gain a deeper understanding of ourselves and develop new ways of understanding our feelings, anxieties, needs and wants. This creates a space to alleviate anxieties, self-attack, over-thinking, insecuries and other defences that get in the way of us seeing our own self.

Through this collaborative process, clients can expect to gain a deeper understanding of themselves and their world, develop greater emotional resiliance, and self-acceptance, and, cultivate more meaningful and fulfilling relationships with others. Ultimately, my goal is to help clients develop a more compassionate and authentic sense of self, one that is grounded in a deep understanding of their own strengths, vulnerabilities and desires. Seeing themselves as whole.
